I have a new Akai llpd8 vdj 6.0.4 doesnt seem to recognize the device. In miditrace it shows up as "Usb Audio Device" I have tried using the drivername= but still doesnt work. I also tried using the syexid= that the device returned which was "F0 7E 01 06 02 47 75 00 19 00 00 00 66 7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F7 " that didnt work either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The only devices that show up in the mappers section is my bcd, keyboard and simple midi wrapper.

THis is an awesome device compared to the Nanopad, and i wouild like to start using it as soon as possible.

USB Audio Device is a generic name assigned by Windows XP and will not work.

If it answers to SysExID, add the response to the controller definition with the spaces removed, e.g:

sysexid="F07E01060247750019000000667F0000000000000000000000000000000000000000F7"

Buttons on a controller will usually send a MIDI note, so you would normally need:

<button note="0x00" name="PC Pad1" />

If the controller does actually send CC's for buttons, then you would need both cc="0xNN" and value="value", where value is the value the button sends when it's pressed down (You can find this with MIDItrace), e.g:

<button cc="0x00" value="0xFF" name="PC Pad1" />

I am not very familiar with miditrace, i usually use midi ox. there are 3 types of command it sends here is a sample of the data from miditrace

pad:
90 00 2A 00

cc:
B0 00 00 00

prog change:
C0 00 00 00

I am assuming that the pad is a note, the cc is just that, not sure what the pro change does. No matter what I seem to do VDJ doesnt respond to the pads at all.

Setup is only possible with VirtualDJ PRO Full to run multiple controller devices.

You can purchase it using the BUY page - http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

And, with the PRO license you will receive access to the download area; where there are some mappings available for the LPD8.

** Please do not ask for people to download and 'give you' the mapping. It will quickly get you 'Blocked' from our forums and is not a favorable action on our forums. **
