Hi all and merry xmas!
Just wondered why this site doesn't display user stats like most other forums?

When someone has posted the page displays their VDJ ranking, but some pro users may have been here a long time but have never been elevated to the higher echelons of the VDJ world. At least displaying post stats and joining date would give other users some info about the person who is posting.
I have been here for 18 months at least and made quite a few posts but there doesn't seem to be anywhere that info is available. At least I could show my wife where I've been for the last year and a half :)

Poof
Merry Christmas
We do our best not to overlook anybody Keith.
The real deal is post counts mean absolutely nothing and can mislead people.
You will see posts with single words, and lol and that sort of thing that really doesn't stand up to a quality post that actually helps someone.
It's usually when we see a user going out of his way to help and has a defined presence in the forum that these things happen.
Its not the number of years that people are registered for either, I've seen users who first logged on in 06 that have 4 posts.
So we prefer this method to elevate people, and sorry if you got overlooked, its not a prefect system but its real time.
I've seen some blogs that make me laugh, that's a game I wish we never started because of the way its used as a popularity contest by some.
Have a great holiday and 2010

To support what Rick said Kieth, we see a lot of one word posts from NLUs. Most operating under the assumption this forum does operate on thread counts. I've seen numerous different forums where that info is shared, and its OK most of the time. Once someone figures out thread count is used though, they post like a maniac trying to improve their status, without contributing in a positive way. I think VDJ is going about things as fair and balanced as possible.
Help, and move up. Just post for postings sake, and you stay put. That is the best way to generate a community. It also leaves it in the hands of the forum members to decide their fate. That is always what I hear, how great our community is compared to others. I know DJs who have switched software, but still come here and help. The reason? The community....

Hey guys, thanks for the promotion!
The post here wasn't about my status, it was just a query in general as just about every forum displays that info. I see your methods though, and it is about the community first and foremost.
Have a great xmas day.
