Thanks, will keep that in mind...
Not sure when yet though, as I'm kinda pioneering (excuse the pun) VDJing in this area. Noone does it, so I'm trying it out at my residency to see if it sparks any interest then will think about adding it to the mobile rig.
Cheers,
Roy

i think marcel gave out the original site for calculating throw distance to size for projectors here is a link to a site not sure if it was the original one though http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm
and short throw with rear projection is def what you need.

Go to the wholesale source dudes!
Trapeze Fabric http://www.dazian.com/cgi-bin/page.pl?action=show_style&style_id=352&group_id=
2 yards will give you a 10' X 7' screen. Cost $50.
Use a soldering iron to put holes in it for bungie ties works perfect and it's machine washable, fire proof, tear proof, and wrinkle proof. I support it with 2 9 foot Ultimate support stands with a 10' piece of 2" black PVC pipe between them.
I've been carrying 2 of these for years and have a 3 yard 16'X9' in the backyard for 3 years.
The way I cut down rear projection throw distance with a mirror mounted to small speaker stand. My projectors need a 14' distance to throw a 10' wide picture. I cut that to 8' by placing the projector on the floor at the base of the screen pointed away from the dance floor behind the screen. Then the mirror is placed 8' behind the screen to reflect the light up to the back of the screen.
I see they now make very short 6' throw projection lenses. Using a mirror to could cut the throw to 3'-4'. but you would need to carry a 5' mrror!

You also could use these straps and clips http://www.stretchyscreens.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=46. I'm sure there are others out there. I even think harborfreight.com has them even cheaper for tarps. That way you don't have to make holes in your fabric and you can stretch any way you may want to.
