any setting suggestions i should know about.......aiso4all 2.9 was horrible for me(sounded bad & performed terrible, no matter what settings) 2.10 sounds much better and performs way better for me. only issue is i had a couple complete drop outs in testing. i have never had a drop out using an ni audio 2 or sl 1 cards. i really like the way vci is performing with asio 2.10 and its great not having to use a different sound card. i am just afraid of complete drop outs. looking for any settings advice....thanks

thanks for the tips........why is using external power better

The Power supply wont work..

The external power supply for the VCI 300 doesnt supply power to the VCI 300 when your DJ iing.. Its bus powered only...It only supplies power when you switch the vci 300 button to adaptor to use it for the audio input. When its in that mode, You wont be able to Dj because its disabled. It doesnt make any sense why vestax did this but thats how the ball bounces.....

try it,

with power supply, I have no problems
without power supply, quality is very poor

VESTAX MANUAL:

If you are using a USB hub, or have a lot of other USB devices you may
need to use the optional power supply (available separately) there is a
limit to how much power your computer can supply over USB.

Power supply is highly recommended. At local club I got humming noise even with ground loop isolator until Switch on the power supply of the vci-300.
Also if computer fails for whatever reason, you can still have power on on your vci-300 and you can play something out from input (I use small mp3-player as backup).

i did not notice any real difference using a power supply......vci seems to working ok as the sound card using the asio 2.10 (2.9 did not seem right with or without the power supply). only thing that concerns me is my audio buffer is on a very high setting (otherwise it skips crackels), is it ok to run the buffer real high (does that have a negative effect on sound quality??????????). also the headphone volume is a little low for my taste.

There is some talk on the Headphone issues regarding the VCI-300, do a search in the forum can't remember if it's in General or Plugin.

Good Luck

Joey...
