Topic: Timecdode with 2 common soundcards (WDM) and ASIO4ALL

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Does anyone ever had success doing it?
Please, tell me HOW to make VirtualDJ understands that the timecode to deck 2 is coming from a second soundcard.
I did it with an old version (3 or 4, don't remember anymore), but never with 6 or upper versions.

Hey!

When you go to config, it should be in the soundcard section where you can choose: 2 Cards.

Then you get to choose which one is WDM and which one is ASIO4ALL. If you still got any problems please tell me.

Hope this helps!

Oh, my bad: I am trying to make it work with a Hercules MK2 soundcard (in WDM mode) and my Notebook IDT soundcard.
I know can easily set the Hercules MK2 to ASIO and do the timecodes with it. BUT trying to experience this to help users who does not have any ASIO soundcard.
If I choose TIMECODES input, I cant choose any other soundcard except ASIO DRIVER or my Hercules MK2 driver, in the drop-down menu in front of this box, the ASIO4ALL driver or the MK2 ASIO driver. Theres no "2 CARDS" option in this box if I choose timecodes input. This woud be the key to the kingdom IF exists.
The options I have in the drop-down menu in front of outputs box (wich is set in EXTERNAL MIXER) are only channels 1 and 2 (the first deck) 3 and 4 (the second deck). The first deck is OK, but the second deck is directed to inputs that I can not change.
My first card has only 2 inputs (line in). I cant configure ASIO4ALL inputs and outputs, and I cant configure VirtualDJ to make it understand that my timecode signal is at the channels 1 and 2 of the second soundcard.

You would use the ASIO4ALL configuration panel to combine the two soundcards, which then presents itself as a single multichannel ASIO sound card to VDJ. You can't use two seperate cards in ASIO mode with VDJ - but ASIO4ALL can pretend the two are one.

VDJ will always use the first two stereo input channels of the soundcard for the timecodes, so perhaps you have ASIO4ALL setup incorrectly? You can edit this if you have to, but I would advise against it - especially if you're going to be instructing less experienced users as there are a few small issues with doing it.

Bear in mind that a proper ASIO solution is vastly better than using a cobbled together ASIO4ALL setup though.

SBDJ, I really dont know how to combine the two cards on ASIO4ALL. All I can do is enable and disable pins. Is the answer enable only one input in both soundcards and disabel all outputs?
I am not at home now, but later will post the setup on ASIO4ALL and if you dont mind, please tell me if this is correct.
Thanks
