I purchased this truss system
. What is cool is that i can use a 5' wide spandex by using 1/2 of truss or a 10' wide spandex using complete truss. Now, also if I use a light-filtering shade I can have a 42" diag for a smaller venue or two 42" diag for two smaller screens (I have two projectors). Each would like like follows:
. You can still hang a light off the short end if you want. The smaller screens total cost was under 10.00 US each. All three setups I use rear projection.

I got the spandex which is fireproof from http://www.stretchyscreens.com/store/index.php?route=product/category&path=35. Both sizes. The shades just came from a home depot, walmart also has them. Need light filtering if doing rear projection. Room darkening will not do rear projection. Oh, and you don't need the grommets. Get the clamps from stretchyscreens or other sources like harbor freight.

Are you saying that the spandex is layered on top of a window shade? How? Front or back? Closer pictures please.

No sorry. It is 3 seperate ideas. Window shades for smaller venues, and short throw areas. 5' for larger areas and I use the 10' for either one large screen or two projectors split screen on one large one.

Gotcha. I said to myself, they look like window shades. That is a great idea. So, they work well? What is the width of those? I have a 10' spandex already, that I can fold in half for smaller needs.

i got the 42" diag. I think they are 36 wide. Nice for small venues or something close, especially when using two if possible. If you can get a longer pipe, you can go to whatever the next normal size shade would be. Don't go with the custom cut. They all seem to stink. No nice cuts. Actually I think it is 55" wide here for normal shade. which prob will give you at least a 60" or 65" diag. Real nice. All with the same truss kit.

I use two automobile hose clamps (ones' with thumb screw head) and use the regular shade brackets and just clamp them to the pipe.
