Dieser Teil des Themas ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten

As you can see, the song on the left, in blue (J-Lo), the square's are aligned up under the beats. Where as on the right, in the red, the red squares are no where near aligned.

if i remember correctly, these are only for a visual, they don't actually guarantee where the beats are.

*Goes to find you evidence*

i see what you mean.. but on your example the dots arent connected to each other neither the beats..
basically if i have 2 songs that were the same bmp they wouldnt beat match.. ( even if they were different bpm they would still match correctly)
but they did before i upgraded.. the dots or (squares) are in between the beats not in line with them like they were before i upgraded..
its quite annoying.. if it was always like that then i could understand/get use to it. but because it wasnt like that before i upgraded it quite annoying!

help me out dude

cheers

sorry mate i quickly replied to that without fully looking.. you said that they werent aligned
but when i play the tracks i can hear that there not matched

You see above, both songs have a square underneath the beat, and they match up lovely.

Don't quote me on this, this is from only memory, but someone made a thread a few weeks back, all in capitals and was explain that the squares are for the amount of beats, a visual thing. There not really for matching up beats, though, like i say, someone will clarify this for you and perhaps post the thread link as i can't find it.

thank you.. i just hope some one will post the link in this topic

I think it may do alot with the music too, IE, RnB has loads of claps, and perhaps VDJ gets confused with this?

Yep had this before, most of the time it's ok but sometimes you beat match something in the headphones and then look at the screen and there not matched up!! what do you do? bring it in anyway and hope for the best, most of the time your cock on but it does make you question yourself anyway it's right more than it's wrong. No different than how it used to be for me prior to computer mixin by ear.

cheers for the info guys.. its just a shame that its not same as the 5.2 version as in the dots were directly beneath the beat.. i mean i mix house music.. vdj always got it right before i upgraded.. i could understand like you said if i were mixing rnb etc. but with house it always got it right with the older version.. are you sure there is nothing i can do to align them, other then pitch bend them till they match each other?
the squares always use to be directly under the beat..

cheers

check in config/options theres a bpm option. try messing with it on/off etc

ok mate ill try

tried turning it on/off but nothings changed unfortunately.. has it got anything to do with mapping?

i had the same issue before but im used to it now, so i just used the headphones...while the dots are not "on beat" the track usually is as long as its the same bpm, its a matter of ear i think

but wouldnt it be awesomeif vdj had a feature where you can fix this, put like beatmarkers and stuff where u want them to be and all? i find the "manual" way to tap n stuff doesnt work quite well

yeah it would be brill! guess im gonna have to get used to it.. oh well...
cheers for all the help/info guys, i appreciate it

play by ear.. don't always rely on the visuals.

Try a different skin. The skin for vdj 6 has this problem. When I use skins from ealrier versions they line up.

Just map one of your keys to "smart tap" and when the song is playing hit the key 'on the one' and it will line up.

thanks guys i will try that out later on..
the problem is i use the mix lab which is an older skin and the squares always use to line with the beat but as soon as i bought the pro version they were no longer aligned.. which is very annoying.. but i know what you mean dont rely on visuals too much, use your ear.. its just annoying that the squares were aligned to the beat and now there not! but like i said as soon as i get back from town i will try out what you said

thanks a lot

right basically i decided not to go in town, cause i want to get this sorted first!
i cant find smart tap when im on mappers.. only beat tap is that the one?

VDJ's beat detector does a pretty good job..
but its not perfect..
On many songs you do have to correct it or tweek it..

once done VDJ will remember your settings..

One real simple thing you can do is map keys on your keyboard to help you adjust the CBG (Computed Beat Grid)
myself I used keys 'Q' & 'W' to shift it left and right.
<map value="Q" action="adjust_cbg -0.5%" />
<map value="W" action="adjust_cbg +0.5%" />

I also mapped the 'T' key so I can do a quick BPM fix.

<map value="T" action="beat_tap" />

how do you map keys on your keyboard?
sorry its just im very new to this whole mapping thing..
cheers
