Hey guys I just received A Marathon Case for my TT's
It would seem my Gemini TT 2000's plate sits a little higher above the lower case half than I expected.
Here is the marathon case pic

My Question is How hard should the Foam Supports be pressing on my TT Plate. If its too hard will this damage my TT? I dont have to force the lid shut per say but it seems to be putting a little more pressure on the plate than intended
It wont be a problem to alter the foam if need be just wondering what you all think.
Here are some pics of what it looks like open

And this is what it looks like with the top half foam resting on plates

As you can see there isn't a huge gap, but the supports on the inside of the lid are hard foam not squishy.
Thanks for the help!

The foam on the platter is to keep the platter on seen as it's just held in place by a magnet, I once had a case that didn't have that foam and the platter came off in transit and damaged my tone arm which was nice!

Shouldn't be a problem if anything i think it's better.

As for the last thing that's at your desecration seen as we can't check it out properly.

PS, the turntable that the platter came off was a 1210, remember they had lids and this is why. My flightcases housed the lids too! note: all DJ turntables now don't come with lids for this very reason I think.

It's designed that way so when the lid is closed the compression keeps the unit in place.

My 1210's, which are still sitting in the flightcases I bought over 20 yeats ago, still house the lids to the decks. They provided extra foam to sit between the platter and the lid to stop it from coming adrift.

Cheers,

Roy
