Hi,
Ive been looking at the hercules rmx and just wondered would the soundcard be good enough to say play a club etc.
Or would it be better to get a controller and buy a dj io?
Does the rmx or any simlar price product compare to a standalone external soundcard?

The sound card in the RMX and the DJ i/o are very close in performance. If you are serious about working a club I would suggest a VCI-300. That being said I have used my RMX in a saloon or two and it did the job.

I bought the Denon DN-HC4500 last year and think it was the best thing I ever purchased.

Supposedly the sound card in the RMX is equivalent to the ESI Maya 44, so unless you're looking to buy a better soundcard than that one (the DJ io is not any better) I'd say go for the RMX.
