Hello, I am new with digital DJing, and I'm sure my question will very easy to answer but nonetheless, I must ask it :)
Okay! My gear is as follows:
Mixer - Denon DN-X100 (http://www.abesk.com/ebay/denon/A01_DN_X100/DSC03300.JPG)
2 CDJs - Denon DN-S1000 (http://www.jingle.org/d-m-images/denonDN-S1000bigback0.jpg)
Is it possible for me to have VDJ running on my laptop, but control the interface via my cd players and mixer? Essentially, I want it to be such that whatever I do on my right CDJ will reflect the right deck on the interface (the same being true for the left). The mixer is only a 2-channel mixer, and the inputs/outputs aren't plentiful as you can see. I use the RCA Master Out's to connect to my speakers, and each channel's RCA inputs are occupied by each CD player.
I hope I made it clear what I'm trying to do. I want to stop using CDs and be able to run my music straight from VDJ, but still use my CDJs and mixer to control everything. If you need me to clear anything up please ask a question and I'll do my best to answer it.

Well,
the ideal solution would be too pick up two S-1200's, which have a built in sound card and full media controll of VDJ..
Second option is to keep your current CD players, and purchase a "3 (or 2) out and 2 in stereo sound card"..
and then use timecode to set the position of the music..
Pro: you keep your cd players, you can pause, play, set pitch, with your cd players
Con: you still need to use the keyboard for all the other functions, you don't have a 'quick' back up if your computer fails, also the cost of the sound card that can handle timecode is gonna cost you...
third option is to purchase a controller. IE, the controller runs VDJ and all its functions, and CD players act as backup only. (you still need a sound card, but can get something less 'high end')
P.S. :
your mixer is only a two channel, BUT it does have 4 inputs, so you can plug in two more decks (if needed)

so if I buy (2) denon 1200s, I would not need to buy a soundcard? and how would the hook-up process work? Can you explain what goes where, etc? Appreciate it.

I dont own the 1200's myself, so I'm not an expert, sorry..
but as far as I know;
The 1200's have a built in soundcard. VDJ would route its audio thru them.
you would connect the 1200's up to your mixer the same as you had the 1000's..
then you would connect a USB cable from each deck to your computer (direct connection is recommended, NO USB HUBS!)
I'm sure theirs drivers you need to install and stuff.. but I dont think anything major..
