is it possible to use both TC vynal and a controller at the same time?

i want to use the TCV as my controlls and my controller as a sampler/FX unit.

yes its possible.. i have that set up with a rmx.
 
But remember that you need a professional version to use timecode.

so true, but i have the means to use TC and i still have a pro trial to use up...soooo,,,, how would i set this up?i know how to set up the TC im just wondering how to setup the herc to just be an FX unit.
 
I had that combo, DAC-3 and VDJ 5 TCV.
