Topic: Configuring soundcard

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi, I've been using the RMX for a few months now, but I want to try and use my Creative X-Fi express card as the sound card and the RMX as the mixer. I'm looking to see whether there's a big difference in sound quality. My question is how do I get the Creative card to work with VDJ and the RMX. I think I've tried every confiiguration I can think of and can only get sound through 1 channel. Any help appreciated.

Figured it out. Simple thing like forgetting to disable RMX soundcard first. LOL

I was having trouble with this too. But I'm using the conective and xponent. What settings did you use?

hey,

I tried this also because there are alot of People that said that the rmx has a cheap sound card and the quality is mediocre. I've been using the rmx for a while now. For the hell of it, I tried out a M-audio Fast track Pro USB pro sound card that used with my old setup before the rmx and virtual DJ. There is a good sound difference. THe sound is not only louder, but more Crisp, Plus with the Fast track pro I can get Latency as low as 5ms stably. I wouldn't switch over because, I em quite satisifed with the rmx sound, the 10ms latency, isn't really bad if ure gonna do mashups, cuts, backspins, and such. maybe for scratching 10ms wouldn't be good at all. I wouldn't switch over to any other external sound card for that little crisp and little loudness. as far as the loudness goes, as long as u have a good Amp and/or good Active pro speakers. than ure set. I honestly don't think the rmx sound card is really cheap. I wouldn't want to carry around an external sound card also for gigs, just as a backup. THis is my opinion, experiment and see what suits you. with an extra sound card replacing the rmx, you can't use the Microphone or inputs with the rmx also, would need a microphone mixer most likely, that's more components to lug around. The crowd is happy, I never got any complaints about sound quality so far!!!

Well, I spoke to soon. I only did a quick check to see if both channels were working. Later on I checked closer and unplugged the creative card rca's and it was still the hercules card that was active. I agree with you DJFresh, not a whole lot of difference in a club, but I think at home when I record a cd I get a richer, crisper sound with the creative. Maybe I'm just imaging it, but would still like to figure out how to use the rmx as a controller and bypass their sound card. Thanks for the input.

hey,

It can definately be disabled, just install your usual drivers from creative, go to control panel, make sure default sound card selected is the creative and input/recordding make sure creative is selected. not sure what OS your using. When I had my m-audio sound card, i didn't have to disable anything really. But with other sound cards, u might have to go into the device manager, and disable the rmx in the sound options. Good point, for recording. The quality difference would be awsome for recording.
