Topic: Packman ate my Mapper settings

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Here we go again. Another frickin' problem.

Is there any way to get my VCI-100 mapping settings back? I spent hours programming the wheels, the buttons, the sliders, the LEDs and now everything is different. I am sooooohhhh pissed right now.

I'm battling the video freeze issue and BAM now another problem. I am so ready to abandon this program. Zero steps forward 10 steps back.

So I really don't see anywhere that I can restore my mappings. There is a delete, a return to default, and add buttons, but no where is there a save settings and a way to restore.

I'm I just stupid and don't see it? Or is it just non-existant and I'll have to spend more hours re-building. And once I do it will glitch out again and I'll end up putting in more hours. This is a pain in the ass.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........................ Help me Obie Wan Ka Nobie !!!!!!

Ok I feel better now. Fortunately I had just cloned the VirtualDJ folder to my other machine. I copied the whole directory back into my laptop. Guess what? I have all my mapper settings back.

Whew !!! that was a close one.

Atomix please add a function that allows us custom map builders a way to restore if something gets screwed up. I got lucky this time.

Add a "SAVE SETTINGS" and a "RESTORE SETTINGS" Back in the old days we were once able to choose a map file. It would be nice to get this feature back.

Thanks

JKL

when you do a costum mapping you find a xml file in /documents/Virtual DJ/Mappers !

oh nice to hear :) Just save the xml file and get it save :)

Always always always back up your Mappers folder if you make changes ;)

myself, before I start to do any major playing around, I always go into the mapper folder (as listed above),
and copy, then rename the mapper I am messing with..
IE: DMC2 mapper.xml >>becomes DMC2 MAPPER.XML.BACKUP

Mee too .... I had spent hours mapping my HC4500 then done the same in case I lost it all. Better to be safe than sorry :)

Thanks folks. I feel better now knowing I can backup my mapper.XML file. Much better than my "shotgun" approach replacing the whole VDJ directory.

It would be nice to have some buttons to do a "save as" and also "import" on the screen. Please pass to development team. I'll copy to wishes forum.

Regards,

JJam
