Topic: Webcam for live video

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I'm looking for a webcam that would be good for live videoing the crowd...i've looked around but i'm not really sure what to choose. I think the 360 degree spin on some of them is pretty cool. Hope you guys can give me some input on what to get. Thanks

I tried to start a thread on that subject allready.but good question. Seems i read in the past of people using a cannon via firewire but i got a new FLIP ULTRA HD since it has a Superb picture and Hdmi out.well it results that the out its only for playing the videos AFTER they have been Recorded! Have an older minicam with AV out (some FLIPS have that also But dont think itstreams Live either..) and bought a Pinaccle AV to Usb converter w/ software. so now i need a camara that will work with that...

not sure if its a good solution for you but we've been using something in our club that, while it aint perfect for the job, it does do the job.
a previous manager decided we needed a camera set-up and shopped around and got a pan-tilt-zoom camera that could also shoot in low light. it's essentially an outdoor security camera with one hell of a zoom on it.. we can zoom in all the way to the back part of the building and read the numbers on the pool balls. and in low light conditions its even sharper. unfortuantly the low light goes to black and white but is so sharp in the picture that you can tell if someone needs a shave when you zoom in.
the camera is mounted on our lighting truss with the controller in the booth - during the concerts we can make sure everyone in the building can see whats going on on stage and not miss anything. and considering how packed we get during concerts thats a bonus.

ideally for a club setting you kinda need a p-t-z camera set-up that can handle the lighting changes as well - autofocus is not always your friend in that aspect! our does pretty good but i'm still trying to talk management into getting a sony hi-def cam that can be p-t-z mounted and controlled. and thats the hard part - $$$ pan-tilt-zoom aint cheap. shop around online and look at the prices and you'll see what i mean.

I use a Traveler DV-5000 (5 megapixel) video camera, cheap and cheary from Aldi Stores. Cost about £60 (UK pounds) 2 years ago. Connects to USB, but, only works as a fixed webcam in this configuration i.e. cannot zoom or use the normal camera features. Comes with a small tripod and associated cables.

Have stopped using it due to very low light levels in my current residency, worked fine at other venues.

I have a Logicam Orbit AF that I have tried to use in the past. The problem is, I have 3 touchscreens that connect to USB. I also have my sound card connected to USB as well as the Chauvet Xfactor DMX controller. I tried using a powered USB hub, but the DMX box and the web cam don't get along together. I am going to try the web cam again tonight and I will use a laptop to run the lightshow. Fingers crossed....

wildcontryclub, you said the camera is good but you did not say which camera you use. I would love to check it out and see if it's something I might want to buy. thanks.
