hi there, i used VirtualDJ 6.0.7 last night for eight hours straight. No problems, the only minor issue was that the waveform wasn't displayed completely on Deck B after roughly 6 hours.

My weekend using VDJ6.7 was not alll that successful.
I still have video lockup even after converting back to VISTA. But during pre-testing all was ok. Something changed during the night.
VISTA was unstable. Everything was fine, then I turn back around and the video resolution changed by itself. I fixed everything and was ok rest of the night.
Developed the 20 second video freeze again. I can't stand it. Today I'll test again. It's been a real pain in the azz converting from XP to VISTA to fix this freeze. I let Mr. Lappy sleep for a few hours. We'll see how he performs after a rest.
There is no easy way to clone. I wish VDJ would make a nice utility to clone machines. Now I have to copy databases, rebuild sampler choices, rebuild Virtual Folders and Filters. Everything is manual. The criss crossed Documents & Program File info between VISTA and XP make the cloning process difficult. I'd rather spend my time working with the music, not manipulating database issues.
It would be nice to do my music processing on my desktop and then with one click make my laptop recieve all the modifications and done. I'll be putting some more suggestions in the Wishes Forum.
The program blew up once. That was while I was recording my show. Fortunately I had a CD in hot standby and the crowd didn't notice. It was early. There was one warning banner then POOF. I had no interaction. It just flashed the warning and then crash city.
Hopefully there is some self healing code going on here and the program will learn from it's problems. Windows does that. It's pretty smart.
But for the most part all worked well. During the dance segments of the nights VDJ kicked ass. I'm becoming proficient with the Hot Cues, Reverse, Key, and Looper. This is way more fun than back in the vinyl days. All the mixing gimics and no needle skipping.
I'm seriously thinking of moving up to Windows 7.
Question: Would Windows 7 give me a more stable platform than VISTA? I would hate to buy this OS and not get any benefit.

@jimmy id be very careful moving platforms. its not and wont be a smooth transition. unless your building a new machine and have a clone back up of your old hdd where u can just swap hard drives.
i'd rate windows 7 64-bit a little higher than vista but wouldnt recommend 7 for someone with no problems on xp pro sp3 that just wants to upgrade. 7 still has some minor silly appearance bugs that vista doesnt have, but it is a beast of an OS. as far as using over 3GB memory...

Windows 7 What version guys? can you be more specific? a lot of people in this forums are having problems and could use this information. I'm presuming you're talking about 32 bit? Please clarify...32 bit or 64 bit, which version of windows 7? and what are your computers specs? All this makes a lot of difference of how and why the system works or not....thanks..

Had the same issue this past Saturday after about 6 hours the songs would no longer completely load. But, I've had this issue in the past, so I kinda learned to live with it, after several hours videos wouldn't complete their load. If I played the track then it would slowly load as the music plays but, doesn't help much if you are trying to mix a minute or two into the track.
