Topic: Need Help With hercules RMX - Page: 1

Dieser Teil des Themas ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten

hello ,I've been enjoying my new hercules and its great. Well my problem is when i let go of the jog wheel after a scratch there is a little delay or sort of a tiny pause and it doesnt sound good. I'm very new at using hercules and any help or tuturial that any one can refur me to will be much appriciated. it kind of like the timing is off between the hurcules and virtual dj, when I do the scratch with my mouse on the screen no problem but with the jog wheel i have that little fraction of a secound delay.
Please can anyone help,

thank you

This is because the jogwheels on the RMX are not touch sensitive. VirtualDJ has no way to tell that you have stopped scratching apart from when the wheel stops moving, so there must be a small delay to detect this. When scratching with the mouse, you are holding the mouse button down, so it knows exactly when you have released it.

If you are serious about scratching, then ideally you need a controller with touch sensitive jogwheels, or you could use traditional vinyl decks with timecode vinyl (Your RMX can act as the required 4-in/4-out ASIO sound card to do this.) To use other controllers and/or timecode, you would need to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Pro, which as a RMX owner you can get at a 50% discount by going to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and entering your RMX serial number in the box provided.

thank you very much I acually have the pro version just need to install to my pc and So all I have to do is set my jog wheel to touch sensitive, thank you very much for takiong the time to respond

Unfortunately you can't set the RMX jogwheel to be touch sensitive - This is impossible because the jogwheels in the RMX have no touch sensor built into them.

Controllers that have touch sensitive jogwheels include the following:

Vestax VCI-100
Vestax VCI-300
Maudio Xpoenent
Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition

Denon DN-S1200
Pioneer CDJ-400, 900 or 2000

So what can i do to make this possible

is their any way to map this?
IE use a combination of a button and the jogwheel so VDJ knows you have let go?

So, one hand on the jogwheel, the other on the mouse... What are you using to control the crossfader... No hang on... I don't wanna know... lol

They have got used to how it works and compensate for it.

Also, if you are able to lower the ASIO buffer size in the Hercules control panel, this may help reduce the delay. How low you can go will depend on your computer's performance. If you set it too low for your computer to handle, you will get sound break-up/stuttering.

Yes, in VDJ Pro, you could map one of the buttons to touchwheel_touch and then map the jogwheel to touchwheel

Then you can hold the button to act as though you are holding the jogwheel. However, this would require two hands.

Thanks for responding to my post, it actually worked , i did like you guys said and Ive removed most of it, Its not perfect but it will do, I guess i'll shell out for another unit but this time I'll make sure its touch sensitive, thanks again.

I need help i just got a Hercules Controller RMX and am having problem with it am unable to preview my next track on Deck once i load Deck be i will not be able to hear what my Deck A is playing and moreso the same thing happen to my output once Deck B is been load the music will not stop,My Microphone is not working as well can someone please tell me how i will fix all this so i can be able to use my Hercules Controller RMX I even try and use it with VDJ pro but not working pefect.I need help as soon as possible.

@Aladin:

A few things you need to know:

- Be sure that your speakers are connected to Output 1-2, and your headphone to the headphone output.

- When loading a song to a deck, VDJ will automatically switch headphone monitoring to this deck (this is something that cannot be changed in the LE version). You can however go back to the previous deck by using the CUE Select buttons.

- You can use the monitor knob to select wht you want to hear in your headphone. Cue will be based upon which deck is select using the CUE SELECT buttons, while Mix is obviously the main mix ( which is coming out on Output 1/2).

As for the microphone, how do you want to use it ?

The problem is when i still load Deck B i will not hear what is coming out of Deck A i will only be able to listen to Deck B which i just load but in MK2 you will still listen to Deck A and Deck B how will i set this Preview to work perfect.

I have the same delay issue with the hercules mp3 control. I think the solution would be that the disc would play whenever you move the crossfader or volume of 1 of the decks but how to map this? anyway I will try with the trick of the control panel tomorrow

How to lower the ASIO buffer size in the Hercules control panel? I do not see it

Hello cotarelo,

I didn't understand there was any delay issue in the previous messages, they mentionned preview issues.
Please detail the delay issue you meet (which version of VirtualDJ, in which operating system, and what is delayed).

Thanks for the reply...

Well in the first posts of this thread it is discussed about a little delay or pause when after a scratch (when you release the jog wheel). It discussed that because hercules rmx neither dj control mp3 are touch sensitives this delay is normal, but there was a post saying that you could lower the asio buffer in the hercules control panel to make it better, but I can not find it.

I am using Win 7 Pro x64 Virtual DJ pro
