Secondary window/screen freeze in vdj after clicking ok to close any secondary screen that’s open
I have the windows 7 ultimate…no bloat version, 64bit, 8 gig ram, the new dual 1 gig nvidia dedicated video card. Alienwear laptop from dell it’s the M17x.
Here is the problem. While I’m in vdj, and you have to open any type of a secondary screen, could be for slide show, it could be that you need to go into the config for a second…”any” secondary screen that opens, when I click “ok” for the secondary screen to close, that screen freeze’s won’t close, wont minimize, cant x out of it, can’t move it out of the way either. The secondary screen stays on top of vdj so you can’t do anything. The only way to get around it is to either, ctrl-alt-del and when you do that it makes the song playing skip or put a cd in the old player and reset the laptop. But I’m not saying after resetting the laptop this goes away….you just can’t do anything that has to do with opening a secondary window again. So can anyone help out here?

I'm having a similar problem. I have a laptop with Windows 7 Home 64bit, 4 gig ram, 512 dedicated video RAM with the Intel i7 processor. For the display I use the extended desktop setting in Windows 7. I have a VGA cable running from the laptop to a PC to TV card. A composite cable then goes from the PC to TV card to a video switcher that connects to the clubs TVs. For me the problem occurs after I open any secondary window of the Windows 7 GUI (hope that makes sense) Examples: My computer, windows explorer, control panel. After it opens the window freezes over virtual DJ. At that point I can't do anything and am forced to mix in a CD or other video from the DVD drives. After I've made the mix, I then hover over the VDJ icon on the taskbar and then click the X. Once VDJ closes all is well. I just have to remember not to navigate in Windows 7 when video is enabled on VDJ. I've also noticed a similar problem if Microsoft Word is open before I enable the video option in VDJ. I have a playlist saved in MS Word for tracks that I still have on CD. I like to keep that open in case I need to find a track really quick that will work with my set. If this playlist is open when I enable the video, VDJ freezes as soon as I click the video check box. At that point I have to kill VDJ & start over. The work around is to open the playlist after I have enabled the video option.

At Last......
Hi
Great to see at last this issue / bug / fault has got some air time on the forum, I have had this issue for years in Virtual DJ and just accepted it, the fault is present on every video card I have tried in Virtual DJ.
I NEVER click over the video window, its fatal and will corupt the video on the 2nd video card ouput and send Virtual DJ mad where by you will have to shut down back to windows desk top and relaunch Virtual DJ Again?
I think the way it should work, is to toggle the video in Virual DJ on/off to the 2nd video output when you click over this window,
Boy I have news for you.... it does NOT do that, stay well away from clicking this video window on alive set or else !!!
I hope the Virtaul DJ team can rectify this, this fault has been there for ages,
The other fault I would like to be rectified by the Virtual DJ team and have some air time on the forum is why, ATI X1950pro cards keep DROPPING FRAMES !!
the video play back on this card is crap!!! jerky and its a good spec card (DDR3 512) etc. but other people on the forum seem to think other ATI card have the same issue,
Not everyone would notice the dropped frames when watching the videos, but I think it stands out a mile, do not seem to have the same problem with Nvidia Cards ??
Regards

I have the same problem. It's happening on Windows 7 32 bit upgrade and affects my desktop with nvidia card and gigging laptop with ATI card. This only happens when in extended desktop mode and not when initially launched. Normally after a few minutes the problem appears. Even if you right click on a file to delete it...the delete window will not go away.

I don't think thats the same problem.. A window not going away usually indicates a maxed out computer or a buggy OS

It's the same problem as others are having above, even things like MSN, or other opened windows do not disappear. This only happens on extended desktop mode. Could it be anything to do with the memory leaks that have been mentioned before using up all my..ad others resources? Also if I right click on the virtual dj icon in my task bar and close it...all the stuck windows then close

I hope they fix this Video Driver Error issue.
Clicking on Video Window Crashes Virtual DJ (Video Driver Error):
