Happens very rarely but was more of a problem at this weekend's gig:
When using Search in VDJ Pro, I type the track name or artist in the search field and tracks appear in the window below, then I select a particular track to load into the player, but "Error" appears next to the track name in the HC4500 window. The song will not play of course. If I look for the same track by firstly selecting the appropriate directory in the directory tree on the left, then selecting the track in the main window, the track loads without error.
As a footnote, it's funny how some tracks seem to be missing when searching with VDJ. Maybe this is partly some kind of Windows indexing error as the standard Windows search also fails to find some tracks. Yes, I am searching for the correct track name, no spelling mistakes involved, etc.
Other than that, VDJ has been running FLAWLESSLY for my last few gigs. I am still on the old laptop though as I am still having problems with Comet regarding my recent purchase. I have taken things to Trading Standards now.

John,
The error occurrs as you need to clean your database in config to remove any files that aren't there or have been moved.
You can then go to your root where the music is, right click and add to database.
That should sort it out.

Thanks for this Keith. I am quite sure that most of the tracks which produced the error had not been moved or changed in any way, but I will try what you suggest.
Many thanks.

This means that the entry for the song in the VirtualDJ database is incorrect. This can happen if you either move or rename the song outside of VirtualDJ.
To resolve, in VirtualDJ browse to the folder where the song is located, right-click on it and choose Add to search DB.

Yes i've noticed this too, but often the search offers two or more choices ov the same track and it seems that the track offered without the bpm reading is the one that will load not the one that has been analyzed already...
i'll try right clicking on the correct sub folder and include it in the search database and see if it works better..
Big up ya Onions...
