Topic: All the DJ's that have Numark NS7

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

What are your impressions about it?
Is it worth of getting one?
I am thinking of getting one, but I would like to be sure that works flawlessly.
I have been messing around with it and tried it, but I want to get an opinion of people that use it frequently.
Are there any bugs or anything that might me want to reconsider?
Is the motor of the spinning wheels durable, etc?

I would like to use it for video mixing and I have a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM & nVidia 9600 (512MB dedicated) Win7 (parallels and separate boot) & Mac OS.

I also have Rane TTM-57 & Technics 1200 turntables, but I would like to get that Numark NS7 for better mobility and ease of use.

Hello,

Hope you may find some helpful information about NS7 users. But I can tell you now about scratching with TTs SL-1200 and any other MIDI device; it would not be the same and will not respond in the same way. Timecodes could give you full vinyl experience, while other midi don't. If you don't do heavy scratch, then you can try and may find useful NS7. My personal preference on this, is to use Turntables for vinyl control and any other midi device for regular mixing.

Hi acw_dj,
I am very surprised what are you saying. I am a heavy scratcher but I tested NS7 at the NAMM 2009, more than a year ago and it seemed to me very accurate. I didn't notice any difference as far as Scratching consider.
Anyway thanx for your opinion. Still waiting on some owners of the unit to hit me back with some feedback.

Well I try it in Numark NS7 and I don't like it at all, Maybe I just a vinyl lover :-). But Forget my words, is my personal opinion, if it works for you then is all that matters. ;-)

Did you try it with VirtualDJ or Itch? I am afraid that NS7 I have been testing a few, was not been set at it's 100%.

It was the Itch. And I am the vinyl lover too. Straight from real vinyl I switched to Serato in 2005.
Now for me looks like Numark NS7 is a great solution especially for mobility.
Like I said it felt good especially for scratching as far as I remember.

My next toy is going to be the NS7. When i get rid of my VCI 300, lets go shopping.

The NS7 actually sends a more precise signal to the computer than timecode.
It provides several methods of detection.

I did the same thing. 16 years spinning. 11 on vinyl, 5 on serato. Bought the NS7 2 months ago. Now when I look at the 1200s in the booth I can't help but think "old". I used to think they were ferraris, but now they look like a honda, lol! Seriously though, the NS7 is an amazing piece of gear. Probably the greatest piece of dj hardware I have ever touched. I have used Itch a good bit and am now here lurking for video options. Going to try to session VDJ live with the NS7 this Friday for as much as I can of a 4.5 hour set.
