I'm not even sure it's released yet. The date I have for it here in the UK is the 19th of this month.
Before even thinking of buying one we need to know that the Atomix gys have managed to get hold of one and haved played with it and started mapping it.
Look at the NS7 as an example. So many people went and bought one thinking it would just work. It's almost there but still not completely supported...
On this basis I am going to hang fire until I hear more about how the VMS4 will work with VDJ before making any decision on whether to buy one or not.
However, what I have done is warmed up my local DJ supplier to get one in as soon as it's available so I can go and get hands on with it - I might not even like the feel of it!!!!
All these boxes need to be ticked before I consider this new purchase:
Has it been released?
Have Atomix got a unit?
Can they map it?
Are there any issues with mapping it?
Is the mapper available to download?
Can I get hands-on with one and play with it?
Can I get hands-on with one, plug in my own laptop with the downloaded mapper and then play with it?
If I can do all of the above, then the padlock may come off my wallet...
Cheers,
Roy
