Topic: Emergency: Sound problem when selecting 2 cards and headphones

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I dont know what the issue is with 6.0.7 but it hasnt happened before. When I select headphones as the output and then 2 cards for sound cards, the sound is all messed up. If its just on headphones and mono it works fine, but I need the 2 cards so i can listen to the cue music.

I have to work tonight in a couple hours and do not know what the problem is. I tried to uninstall and reinstall even went back to version 6.0.5.

ANY IDEAS? Seems like its something on my mac but ive played with the volume settings and nothing else is running so no clue what it could be.

ANYONE???????

If anyones interested to know it was adobe premiere cs4 causing the issues. I guess they install some sound drivers or something that conflict with VDJ. Be aware of this if you plan on installing it.

If anyone knows of any issues with this please let me know if theres a work around.

Hello MazMan007,

Messing up the sound with 2 sound cards while the sound quality is OK with only 1 sound card is a frequent issue when using simultaneously 2 sound cards whose frequency is not the same, for example an internal sound card set at 44.1Khz with a USB sound card set at 48KHz.

The solution is to change the sample rate of one of the sound cards. Go to Applications > Utilities > Audio & MIDI Setup, select the 2 sounds cards, one after the other and check if they are at the same sample rate. I don't know for your USB sound card, but the internal sound card in Mac can be set both at 44.1KHz and at 48KHz.

PS: I doubt Adobe Premiere CS4 is linked to this issue.

I have the same problem and tried that suggestion with no luck. Work ok with one sound card but not with the two. I tried to change the format all over from 48 to 96 etc and still get the static. Please help..... any other suggestions???

I hope this issue is still being worked on, because running VDJ in dual mono mode sucks...

I'm digging this thread up again because no one has yet to find an answer and i just spent lots of money on all this equipment and can't use it to its fullest. i have both my cards set at the same Hz but I still get the static comming thourgh either my speakers or my headphones depending on how i play around with the settings. is there any fix for this PLEASE HELP ME!!!
