My ex step son was hit by a freight train while walking the tracks & listening to his i-pod. He was 18. His memorial service was today. Please get the msg out that i-pods can be dangerous to use to your loved ones & friends. This is the second tragedy within a year as another 18 year old was killed last summer under the same circumstances.
Needless to say last night especially was a hard night to spin, but it's the only thing I know & what else could I do. Last night I made those people dance & today I cried. I want a refund on my 'Shamwow' though, it didn't cut it.
He loved Wu-Tang, 2 Pac, Biggie, etc also the Beatles which was played at the memorial. Music was a big part of our 7 years together as the whole house as you can imagine was wired for sound including the backyard lol. I'm gonna throw down a tribute mix for him this week.
Pass the public service msg on so none of your loved ones learns the hard way like Jake did.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how difficult something as tragic as that must be to deal with.

Sorry to hear about this. We have laws here that prohibit anyone from wearing headphones while driving a car or even a bicycle. We don't have any laws governing pedestrians and walking with headphones. We are paying a price for some of the technology. Especially when it comes to texting and driving and YAPPING on a cell phone.

In the UK if you walk the tracks you get arrested and fined, Ipod or not! There is a time and place to shut out the world and a rail track certainly is not one of them.

Thank you for thinking of others in a difficult time. I promise to tell my sons and all their friends your story. Living near tracks as we do, an i-pod was never a worry and thanks to you, never will be.

I told him I was going to make him a mixtape & was on my to do list & sadly never got around to it before. We had many conversations about music & here is the Memorial Mixtape I made in memory of my little buddy with his fav artists. I know he helped out with it as some tracks I have never ever even listened to b4 I made the mix so there is a little divine intervention in this mix.
