I have just purchased a DJM-700K and midisport uno and am running Windows 7 x64.
For some reason when I click the Mappers tab in VDJ, my device does not show up in the drop down box whn I click scan for devices. This is what I did...
1. Turned on all devices
2. Plugged midi-out into midi port of DJM-700 and USB into computer
3. Turn midi 'on' on mixer and pressed 'start'
4. Checked device manager and found that the midisport UNO device was found and 'working properly' (no errors)
5. Opened up VirtualDJ 6.0.7
6. Clicked the mappers tab
7. Clicked the button next to drop down box to scan for devices
nothing was found :(
I also opened ssl and that too didn't find a midi device as the midi button was disabled.
any ideas? sorry this is all new to me :S
any ideas?

There is no built-in support for the Pioneer DJM-700 - You will need to manually map it yourself via CONFIG -> Mappers -> Simple MIDI
NOTE: You DO NOT need to map EQ's, volume, gain, etc. to control VirtualDJ's software mixer. You should use the hardware controls on your mixer only to directly manipulate the sound. Mapping volume and/or the audio crossfader will prevent you from headphone pre-listening directly from the mixer (Because the sound is faded out by VIrtualDJ before it reaches the external mixer.)
The only features that you normally need to map on an external mixer are the crossfader for video crossfading and possibly spare unused knobs/buttons/sliders for triggering effects, samples, etc.

OK thanks a lot for that, I will stay away from controlling sound through VDJ.

I hate to ask "beginner" questions but when I get to the Mappers window and select Simple MIDI wrapper, I'm guessing I click 'new' but then I get stuck and I can't seem to work out how to map a button on my mixer to a VDJ button. Can you tell me how to map a button on the mixer/deck as I have played around with the 'Key-Learn' and 'Action-Learn' buttons for a while and haven't got anywhere?
I have 2x CDJ-2000s if that makes any difference

First of all, you would need a MIDI interface (E.g: USB MIDI cable) to connect it - Unlike the CDJ's and other controllers, I don't think the DJM-700 has its own built-in.
Once you have that, you would go to CONFIG -> Mappers, click KEY LEARN then press the button or move the knob/slider wish to map, then type in the action you wish to assign it to, e.g: Move the crossfader, then type video_crossfader in the Action box.
As above, you should NOT map the volume sliders, EQ knobs, etc.

@ Bocky 25.. The Midi Sport sucks. If you recently bought it from a store, Take it back and get another brand like Cakewalk etc. The Midi sports give problems. I have the same mixer DJM 700. I was looking for the cheapest priced Midi cable so i bought the Midi sport. I took it back and bought this. Cakewalk UM-1G USB MIDI Interface. I also have the Serato Video SL and it works fine.
