Topic: Video pause in console window

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I cannot seem to find any other posts about this.

I am running Vista Pro on a HP DV5 laptop

1.9 AND Athlon X2
3 GB Memory
ATI Radeon HD 3200

all music on a external SATA 7200 Seagate drive

whenever I type in the search window all video on the console ( waveform, time clock ) pauses and gets kittery, especially if I use the backspace key.

This does not seem to effect video playback.

It does worry me though.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

havent seen that problem before.. *shock*

The only thing I can think of right now is the hard drive has spun down and when you first start typing VDJ has to wait until it gets access to the XML file..

does this happen every time you search? if you load a song into a deck, and emmediatly do a search does it still happen?

How is the ext HD connected? USB?

this also happends to me, i am using an external hardrive also, i belive the reson it freezez is that it is starting up the harddrive, espeially if you are searching a large folder. my music libary is 96 Gb and it my main monitor freezes for a good 4 seconds, but it never affects my video window. i think virtal dj is putting all resourses it can to search the hardrive without freezing the music of video. i would not worry if i was you, it has been doing this for a while with no problems.

It is a external drive connected through SATA. it has had all sleep options disabled.

Just one of those things that kind of worry me.

A spun down hard drive WILL cause this, but also you have to remember that far more resources are in use when playing video.

I'm certain I've read it somewhere here that VDJ will ensure smooth playback of audio and video, even though the UI may become a lttlie "juddery" especially if the processor isn't quite up to the mark...

Cheers,

Roy
