Hi:
Can someone help me. I got a new laptop with Win 7 HP 6535b, Hercules MP3 controller and a 500 GB external drive.
All my BPM's are gone. Under CONFIG>BROWSER>DATABASE, shows only c drive with 94723 files, I got no music on my C drive!!
On windows my external drive is letter E.
How can I get my bpm back, is a lot to re-scan again.
Thanks

try changing your drive letter to what it once was.

If you have not done so; Copy your database into the external drive also

It's down to the drive letter... If, on your old system, the external drive was drive F:, but on your new system it's something else, then as far as the VDJ database is concerned the tracks no longer exist as the drive and path is included in the database.
You can tell Windows what drive letter you want an external drive to have by:
1. Right click on My Computer and select Manage from the menu
2. In the snap-in window that opens Disk Management under Storage from the left hand tree
3. Right lcik on the drive in question and select Change Drive Letter and Paths... from the menu
4. Select the right drive letter from the dropdown in the dialog
If the drive letter is already in use, follow the above to re-assign the other drives letter before changing your external drives letter.
Cheers,
Roy

Ok I figure this out. It was a Security issue. For some reason my new laptop did not have permission to my external drive. So I when to the drive security area and gave full access to the EVERYONE user and applied the new permission setting. and Walla got access to all my bpm and other database information and also the drive appeared in the config>browser>database>drive area.

Had the same issue. On the program icon before you open it right click and run as administrator. This should fix your problem.
