Will I be able to play the music from the XENYX 1204USB Mixer if I connect it to the laptop with just the USB cable? If so, how many separate channels could I have, and how would I determine which channel my music is playing on?

I ued to have a 1202. Inused to use this for VDJ my taking to jack outputs of my RMX and in to this. My radio mics then plugged directly in to the Xenyx which then went to my EQ. It worked very well...
From the looks of this unit, you could probably select the Xenyx as a soundcard for VDJ, but if it's only a 2 channel soundcard you will probably loose the ability to cue and PFM...
I haven't played with multi soundcard setups myself, so maybe you could use your built in soundcard for that, but I'm not sure if the levels would be powerful enough for DJ headphones at a venue...
Cheers,
Roy
