The numark total control has no sound card built into it which means no inputs for headphones or a mic.
You would have to buy a numark dj io or any other sound card.

So what you are saying is you already have turntables, sl1 sound card, are you using these as timecodes and want to add the total control as a midi controller. If so just plug you headphones into you external mixer.

yeah i want to use the total control as just a midi mixer and still use my turntables the headphones i want to use for cueing if i get numarks dj io will i be able to cue with my headphones then???? because the sl1 box does not have a headphone input and yes i am using serato timecode vinyl

Ok so surely if you are using timecode vinyl then you are using a regular external mixer. If so then just use your headphones with that to cue

You will not be able to use timecode with Numark DJIO - It is intended for use in MIDI controller only or keyboard/mouse setups only.

The SL1 and most other timecode cards are intended for use with a standard audio DJ mixer and do not have a headphone output (As above, you would do the pre-listening from the mixer itself, using the PFL or CUE button of the appropriate channel.)

If you are looking to use timecode but also have MIDI mapping capabilitties (E.g: Map the crossfader to crossfade video and map spare buttons to control effects, etc.) then you should purchase a standard DJ mixer that is also MIDI capable, such as Pioneer DJM-700 or DJM-800.

Don't get it. Numark has terrible customer service. I bought that exact unit and had to take it back. It was right before a gig. The only way to get the firmware is from customer service. There have been issues with those units not being flashed from the factory.

It was like a Tues. when I got the unit. I had to take it back I couldn't in contact with anyone. I bet you will find the same if there is a issue with it.

Who knows there might never be a issue with it. But I'm just saying. Your best bet is a American Audio 4MS4. It has been getting rave reviews on the street.

The faders are replaceable it's not a cheap mixer. It has turntable hook ups you wont need a third party application like a DJ IO. Look into it you might like it. The jog wheels are the most realistic rep of a turntable on the market. Im Just waitinf for them to make them the size of 45 records.
