Hello
I am looking for a better audio interface.
Cakewalk UA-25EX is in my sight
http://www.cakewalk.com/products/hardware/default.aspx?Prod=UA-25EX
If I use UA-25EX as master sound, will I be able to use RMX as controller only ? (buttons, jogs, faders, knobs)

Keep in mind that in order to have a main mix and a preview channel, the soundcard needs to have 4 dedicated channels (or 2 Stereo) outputs, as it's the case with the Rmx.
The Cakewalk UA-25EX only has 1 stereo output channel (the headphone out is a copy of this same channel).
These kind of details can be confusing when shopping for a card.
As for for VDJ :
- it is indeed possible to use any soundcard and keep the Rmx as a controller,
- The best cards will have their own dedicated ASIO driver. Some manufacturers prefer using generic ASIO driver (such as ASIO4all or Ploytec USB audio) which, let's be honest, can work well, but are not always optimized for the hardware itself.
- As for USB 2.0 or Firewire, the debate is still up on this one. Firewire looked to be on the way out not too long ago, yet manufacturers still make new products, and it's a reliable solution. USB 2.0 is more popular and accessible (since all computers have now many ports).
