Uninstall what windows drivers?
I have un-installed and re-installed the maya drivers with no luck. Are there other drivers that I should be concerned about? How do I un-install using the device manager?

I had the exact same problem. You have more then likely installed the wrong MAYA USB 44 driver. When you download the drivers from the mfg. you get the driver for the new ESI sound card it will not run the older sound card.
MAYA44 USB has since been replaced by the new ESI version of MAYA44 USB. The original MAYA44 will not install properly using the windows 7 driver.
The new ESI USB SOUND CARD http://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44usb/ Is windows 7 comparable.
I had the same problem so I purchased a new Numark DJ I/O Multi Channel USB 2.0 DJ Audio Interface by Numark. I think the Numark driver runs and sounds better then the MAYA
If you purchase the Numark driver you should uninstall the old driver software and uninstall Virtual DJ . Then when the driver is installed reinstall Virtual DJ.
Good luck

you plug in when prompted and use the same port so that the system can find the device.....
so try this , this does work in some cases i know for a fact
disconnect all other devices from there usb ports.....
now when prompted plug it in and it's the only item that can be found
also during any install it's good to not use wifi/bluetooth/anti virus

I am having the same install problem. Win 7 64 bit. i have the ESI maya 44 usb.
The installer says installed correctly but Windows device manager shows 'Device cannot start. (Code 10)
Will try to install it tonight with all other USB ports unplugged and report my findings.

goto device manager and find the maya 44. then highlight it, right click and press uninstall. . if you cant find the maya 44 listed then look for any drivers with a yellow triangle next to it and uninstall those also. you may find that the maya is listed under the usb devices and not the sound devices. once the drivers are uninstalled reboot.
then goto here
http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=40&g=2&l=en
and download this
MAYA44_USB-x64-v2_840.zip
unzip it and run the setup file. follow the instructions. but one thing to do is to not use the same port. this time with a fresh install of drivers and software use a different port. this should fix your problem.
have you tried installing the drivers off the cd ay all???

OR BETTER STILL.....
flog the maya44 and get a Gigaport HD.
no worries about windows 7 64bit....
i got it and it works straight out the box.
then again...it depends what you are doing with it as to whether you have Maya44 or Gigaport HD...

You need to be much more specific.
This is more of a PC tech support question than anything to do with VDJ, but let's go through what you're doing...
What type of user account are you logged into Windows with?
Whcih drivers (exactly) are you downloading?

I have the laptop that I have. Why ask why? Can you help me? Telling me that something I DONT have is not helping with what I DO have. Can you help me get this up and running with the set up that I DO have?
You said that the guy that asked why was being rude, but I believe that the posting above that I quoted was the rude post. And being a Newbie to the forums here being rude to the ppl that has been here for a while is not the best way to get help or your questions answered. I don't think he should've apologized to you, you should be the one apologizing to him.
Now to answer your question it sounds like a drivers issue with your maya device.
