Topic: Having trouble setting up the Maya 44/ Sound Quality

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

ok, first off, i'm just a beginner (noob) and about a month ago i finally got my turntables and sound card.
Ive looked at many youtube vids about setting up correctly and ive followed a few step by step and i seem to be missing something. I got both turntables to play music but the quality is horrible...almost like the gain is too high. Ive tried and tried, but i can't seem to get it correct.
Anyone have a general idea what the issue might be besides me? lol
it would be a lot better if anyone was local to me and physically help me out. I'm in southern cali.

Thanks in advance.

i can tell you imediatly what the problem is, i had the same problem for months and i tried everything, and i mean everything.
new mixer, new decks, new cables new amp newneedles and vinyl.. dude i tried EVERYTHING.. i even sent my soundcard to esi support for testing and replacement and i still got the same result. bad latency and a shed load of distorsion.

for me a ram upgrade worked a treat. i seriously suggest you do the same. it may help, by the way, how much ram do you have and which OS are you using? i would bet vista or 7 with 1gig ram or so.

I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 with 2.50 GB of RAM

Can you put a screen shot, this seems to be a similar problem to mines.

wow really? 7 with 2.5 gig ram.

hmmmmm in this case im not exactly sure. by any chance does one deck sound ok and the other not. i still have problems from time to time from deck 2. never have been able to figure it out.

depending what decks your using though, some decks have a switch under the platter. so you can switch from phono to line output. if its set to phono and you plug it into a line input, it can cause problems. also vice versa.

ive always wondered also if some motherboards cause problems but thats probably just my mind working overtime. have you tried uninstalling your onboard sound? could be an issue running both together.

Try turning your gain up. See how that works then let us know.

Huey

i tried that....the sound is still the same, distorted.
