Topic: Trouble setting up my Hercules MK2 DJ console

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hey,

Last weekend I bought myself the Hercules MK2 console, as I want to start DJ'ing on a small scale. It seems like a nice mixer, just to start. But I can't get it to work properly!
The problem is. I am using a 5.1 creative surround speakerset connected to my onboard soundcard on the PC. (Realtek chip). So I connected the console with the USB cable and the RCA to line-in 1/2 and to the line-in of my PC's sound card. There was a DJ Console version of VDJ bundled with my console, but in the config there I only have the option to use the console as soundcard.. So I get no sound at all! I installed VDJ Pro, and there I noticed there are plenty more options. Over there, I can get the mixer to work almost perfect, when it comes to sound at least. The only problem is that I can't use the headphones on the mixer :(

So step 1... Can someone tell me if I can properly use my console combined with the VDJ Console version 3.4.1?

Thanks in advance

Indeed, the DJCEdition included with the Mk2 can only use this soundcard (for obvious reasons)

As for using your speakers, you can either:

- Connect Output 1/2 of the MK2 to the AUX Input of your speakers (they all have one tpo use with MP3 players ans such)

- Or connect Output 1/2 of the MK2 to the LINE In of your soundcard, which will allow you to leave your speakers connected to your computer (although a 5.1 system is not the best for DJing).

- The best solutions is probably to get a dedicated pair of stereo speakers for DJing and keep our 5.1 system for your regular computer uses.

As for the headphone, simply connect it to the from headphone port of the MK2, and use the switch to listen to a specific deck.
