All of them. You can map any midi device to work with vdj.

I just bought the American Audio VMS4 and I must say I love it.

In trial or Pro, you can see all current native supported controllers by going to CONFIG -> Mappers, click on the button to the right of the drop-down list and untick the option to only show connected devices.

You will now see all native supported controllers in the drop-down list.

Allen & Heath 4D.....

Love this tool !!!

Really dude? Would you recommend this to a beginner? I am thinking about getting my frist dj controller... but dunno which one to buy! I don't want the cheaper one... nor the best one... but I want a good one. I just want any which I can use with virtual dj.

I would not recommend the VMS4 to anyone until AA gets the issues with it sorted out.

i recommend NUMARK TOTAL CONTROL for starters its great, cheap, simple, and does the work

Im having so much problems with VMS4 that I wouldn't recommend it to a begginer.

I would not recommend the VMS4 either, im sure all the glitches will be fixes in a few months and then it will be great!

im looking to buy my first controller.
i cant decide if i want a Numark Omni control or a Hercules RMX. any suggestions?

I've bought two Denon DN-S1200 - Its both CDplayers, USB player, MP3 player - and most importantly MIDI controller. And it works like a charm with VDJ ! :-)

You have all options in those 2 players but for an affordable price compared to many other players on the market that does same things. Of course its a bit more expensive than a plain midi controller, but it has backup funcitons (or i see it as such) if your laptop crashes / VDJ crashes you can still use USB sticks on the player or go use reguler or mp3 CDs.

Blakes18...The choice depends on how much money your willing to spend.

The RMX retails for £285.00, whereas the Omni retails for £220.00.

I used to use a Steel, which is an RMX without the soundcard, and a mate uses an Omni and there are plenty of differences, but a killer for me is that the Omni EQ kills are activated by pressing the knob, whereas on the Steel they are seperate buttons...on more than one occasion he has killed an EQ channel by mistake!

The other option is a DJ Steel (£179.00) and a pair of Numark PHX USB headphones (£39.99). This combo will give you the ability to cue using the headphones without having to use a external soundcard (whether it be built into a controller or seperate). Look on Numarks site for more info on the PHX USB.

I use a DJio with my NDX800/DDM4000 setup, but I'm getting some PHX USB for my new Konsole setup.

Oh and if you buy an RMX or Steel, you will get a copy of VDJ 5 Console Edition, that allows you to qualify for upgrade pricing to VDJ 6 Pro.
