Looking to replace my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A215-S7422 15.4-inch Laptop-AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual Core Mobile Technology TL581, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium). Yeah, I know, it's an old laptop :-) Well, I've had it for 4 or 5 years now and it's served its purpose, but lately, all indications are it's time for a replacement. I think I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 for this one at the time, and added 2 gb of ram (came with 1gb ram).
Question now is...What's the best laptop I can get for $600-$700 today? Honestly, I mostly use it for VDJ w/ music (no videos yet, but perhaps in the future), internet, email, and schoolwork.
Look forward to your replies...
Thx!

What ever you get, consider of course a hefty processor with plenty of Ram, or DDR3, or 4? You might even consider a desktop. Cooling is sometimes a big issues with laptops. Especially when you are running it for hours? I use a laptop for running MP3's with out any problems. Consider your applications, and if you decide? Be sure to make room for any upgrades in the future now! If you are going to run video, remember it requires more to process, than MP3's. Hope this was helpful.

hey,I used to have a Toshiba satelite with which I am very satisfied, LOL. it is hard to find an alternative of it, what I use now is this Dell laptop, Intel Core i5-520M CPU(2.4GHz), 4GB DDR3, 160GB HD, really not a bad choice. I got it here http://tinyurl.com/25myz4q
