Hi. Before a gig last weekend I prepared everything in advance. All good. Then I closed the laptop and when I opened it again it had lost its connection to my RMX. Tried to close down the program etc but no luck. Had to reboot the macbook in order to reconnect. Any ideas on how to solve this in smoother way?

Seems like OS X is cutting down power to the USB port you are using. which causes the Rmx to "disconnect".
There have been known issues with MacBooks and using certain USB ports. The following document explains the situation, as well as a few other power management modifications you can perform:

Unfortunately, OS X does not offer a way to prevent the computer from going to sleep mode, when closing the lid. There are many forum post on the subject, but definite solutions it seems...
