Topic: VDJ Trial/Hercules RMX - Sound cuts out during play

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I have a 2005 Macbook Pro, Hercules RMX, and I'm using a Trial Version of VDJ 6 (6.0.1).

VDJ recognizes the Hercules RMX, but during mid-play, the sound will just cut out and no come back on. This usually happens when a track is loading, or when I touch around the jog-wheel area of the Hercules RMX. I can re-start the program and the sound will work, but eventually, the sound cuts out. Sometimes I hear static right before the sound cuts out.

When the sound does cut out, I can still control VDJ with the Hercules, it's just the sound does not play.

I have tried this set-up with different speakers and at different locations and the same thing always happens.

I haven't seen this problem on the forums, so I wonder if this is just a really unlucky isolated situation.

I wonder if it may also be a hardware problem, but like I said, I can still control VDJ with the Hercules, just no sound is outputted.

Any thoughts?

There is no Mac trial v6.0.1

Also, that version is very old and out of date. There have been many changes, improvements and new features added to the software since then.

Please download the latest v6.1.2 trial from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/trial.html

Also, make sure that you have the latest drivers and firmware for the RMX installed. You can find a link to download these from http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html

NOTE: Assuming that it is not second hand and/or the discount has not already been used, your RMX DJ Console entitles you to a significant discount off upgrading to VirtualDJ Professional. To receive this, please go to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and enter your DJ Console software serial number in the box provided.

Ok, I uninstalled the previous version and installed the 6.1.2 Trail version.

Now I can control the sliders with the RMX, but the jog wheels do not respond nor do the play/pause buttons. If I try to play a track manually (with the mouse) it also does not play. Point is, nothing is playing. I updated the drivers on the RMX and I restarted the computer. Is this a common issue?

Never mind about that last post, I got the jog wheels and sound to work the third time around (it just did).

Anyways, the music started skipping and then cut out once again. 10 seconds after that, little sound blips started coming out of the speakers.

So...yeah...what to do?

You probably have an out of date mapper installed from the previous old version.

Go to CONFIG -> Mappers, choose the RMX in the drop-down list, then click the reset to factory defaults button at the bottom-left of the Mappers dialogue box.

Um, alright bro. I'm gonna keep trying to figure it out, I would like this too work before I buy the full version. But I guess it's good it's happening now.

Just to keep you updated, I "optimized" my machine and it ended up only playing blips and beeps. No sounds output whatsoever. I can say that the mixer plays my itunes songs no problem. I originally thought it was a problem with the sound card, but that doesn't seem to be the issue...

Upon further review, it would seem that the sound output from VDJ is distorting the sound card within the RMX, causing the sound to stop coming out.

Is there anyway to lower the sound output from VDJ, if that makes any sense.

You can also delete the .plist file.
