Okay, I will be honest here....
1- I don't read manuals
2-I'm Lazy
3- I don't read manuals because I am lazy
so with that being said, let me ask you this, and yes I am sure it is in the manual someplace, but well ya know.... #3
Why is it everytime I am at an event, I have to add my USB HD to the database?
Once you add it, shouldn't it always be in there?
The worst is Karaoke, when it takes FOREVER to scan the HD,,,,, so why? Am I not pushing the right button? Do I not have the correct option clicked?
I see that little VDJ icon on the HD,,, what am I doing wrong,,, or is it just the way it is....
Thanks...

Hi Chuck, we met in Vegas.
Deal with #2 and then #1.
Love your photography and lighting btw.
Not sure what you mean by the little vdj icon on the HD.
Your databases should load automatically when you start vdj
Try reinstalling the software with the music drives connected when you do.
Hit me in support or FB if you are still having problems.
Rick

Not to hi-jack the thread but I have had similar issues where I will find that songs and/or videos are "missing" when I perform a search. I will rescan and add to DB and then perform the same search and have the titles show up. It is a big annoying but I don't mind because I just think back to the days of having to lug around CD books. :-)

not sure if its the same but that used to always happen to me when i started.
just remember when you move /change name/or folder type ect alway do it within vdj and save a copy of xml.
as when you make changes just say in folder outside vdj the file name is then different so will not show up the same.
and with all external hds midi controls ect always use the same usb port when installed or added.
i hope this will help somebody as you learn from your mistakes
