Ok, I have been playing around with this for a few min. mainly on the laptop, and I have to say this is awesome (especially the playing 4 decks simultaneously to make a rather interesting 4 way mashup). My question is, "Is there a way to set up VDJ7 to use timecodes to control decks 1 & 2 and the two decks on my RMX to control decks 3 & 4, with it all run through the RMX." Only reason I am asking this is because I don't have the $2,500 to $4,000 I need to get a 4 channel midi mixer and the 2 DN-S3700 decks I want to add to my Technics SL-1200's. So I was wondering if there was a way I could utilize the 4 deck feature while using 2 timecodes and 2 "digital" decks. I have a feeling I might know the answer, but I thought I would ask anyway. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Alright, so I got it figured out (with some help from dj_in_norway). and I must say that 4 decks is great. only downside is cause I don't have a real 4 channel mixer I have to control the pots on decks 1 & 2 with the mouse.... But so far everything is running smoothly. now all I need is money to get more gear, lol.

Michael,
I'm not 100% sure you can get what you want ( I don't have your setup nor a RMX) but I'm pretty sure you can.
In your My Documents-folder (Virtual DJ) there are a few extra new manuals. One of them is the Audio Setup Guide. From page 14 and up you will find how to setup any soundcard. From page 19 there's a description how to setup TC. With the Advanced Setup you can almost link any in- and output to any deck.
Martin.
[EDIT] Missed your own reply by seconds..... ;)

alright, what you do is you set up your sound setup like you always have with timecodes. "INPUT" set to "Timecodes". "OUTPUT" to "Headphones" and "SOUND CARD" to ASIO...same as always. then go to the mapper page, and where it shows the RMX at the top of the list in the "Device" window, there is a button thing to the right of the window. Click that and select the RMX to control decks 3 and 4. This way the timecodes control 1&2 like they always have, and the RMX now will control decks 3&4. If you have any questions let me know and I will try to help as best I can.

That sounds neat - I'll try it at home later.
One thing that does come to mind though is will the RMX effects buttons (1-6 in my case) still be able to add effects on the sound coming from standard vinyl when using the RMX in timecode bypass mode (I only saw this working last night for the first time - prior to version 7 the effects only seemed to work on the mp3s controlled by a timecode)
Thanks.

so far I haven't figured out how to get it all to work on the timecode decks. right now, the timecodes are just players with nothing else being controlled from the RMX other than crossfade. everything else has to be done by mouse on those two decks. I have another thread open in here asking about how to do stuff like that with this current setup i.e. remap the halves of the RMX (which I am only running till I can afford two more decks and a 4 channel midi mixer). As soon as I know something I will let you know.

Thanks Michael. Some lovely features in this release. I don't have a live gig for a few weeks so I'll hammer the hell out of it in the meantime.

I managed to get that working. Thanks again.
Did you figure out how to get the RMX "Source" button working to activate/deactivate timecode mode on the vinyl decks? I am not at the machine now but I'm guessing it's just a case of explicitly referencing the deck number in the VDJ Script.
Cheers.

I do something just like this but I don't put the RMX in to ASIO mode. I do however going into the RMX control panel. ( it's a quick launch icon for me) and then click on the advanced tab. After that I click on the USB streaming +Line 1& Line 2 box. It works just fine but doesn't apply the EQ on the Line ins.I do however keep the ability to add effects and such on my Line ins.
