I know its about beat matching. But how do you separate your library for easier findings for the mix and so forth. I'm curious how you know that your mixing in the right song in to the mix? do you go off of the BPM's and beat match it or do you go by the tempo of the music that's playing.
Example: playing the song like Lil John party like a rockstar tempo and going to something like slower song from like Akon be with you.
Thanks
steve

I know my library very well even though it consists of about 5000 songs but I remember what songs there are & I look at my beats to match what is ever the closest.

Listen to a lot of music. All the time. Store it in your own library in your head. Then with training all you have to do is read reactions, the mood of the music, the speed and the feel of it and you'll know what track to play next. At least that's what I do :D

I set my folder by genres and sessions. Songs like party like a rock would be added to a folder called " Hot Dirty south " i would add songs from lil wayne, Rick ross, T.I. Etc. I have 80 folders and it's setup so i can find my next track quick.
Example..
Hip Hop Club Bangerz
Hip Hop Club bangers 2
Hot Dirty south
Up beat hits
Up Beat hits 2
Throw Back 90's
Throw Back 90's-2
Hip Hop Early session
Hip Hop Early session 2
New Sh..
I have an 80's session folder but it has many genres combined. Its all about making people dance so i did this.. In this session folder, I have songs like
The roof is on fire
I wonder if i take you home
Don't stop till you get enough
It takes two
Set it off
Rappers delight
The breaks
Holiday
Kiss
This is to hype up the crowd. You make sessions with the hottest songs. Bpm's being alittle of is no big Deal. i can have songs with 109, 112, 115 in the same folder. ill just lower or raise the pitch.
