Hey people,
been a while since i last posted. I stopped using virtual dj after my trial on 6 finished because i went and tried out serato. Now i really liked serato however, i need the support of 4 decks and basically after checking out vdj 7, it looked like an awesome option, considering the user friendlyness. So atm im checking out the Pro Version as a trial, and hopefully if the program co operates ill buy the software
Now i have a questions
1 - I have 2 soundcards . 1 - the SL1 and 2 the maya 44 usb.
My question is can i use these soundcards ( i know i can use both of them for 2 deck mixing) can i use both of them combined to give me a 4 channel output ( basically being able to connect both cards and have both my cd players and both my technics hooked up at once, kinda like with the audio8dj)
If so how, and does anyone have the configurations for this

As far as I know, you can use either or, but not both at the same time. You will still be able to configure for four or more decks. So decks 1 & 3 will use the same channels, and decks 2 & 4 will use the same channels.

Cheers for that mate,
If i understand correctly your telling me i cannot run 2 soundcards at once to support 4 seperate sources
So if i want to be able to utilize all my 4 music sources ( 2 CD players and 2 turntables) at once, i would have to buy a single soundcard with 4 rca inputs, say a card like the NI Audio dj 8?

No, you can use the sound cards you have, to get what you want. You will need the pro version to do that. Now that I have re read your last post, yes you will have to get another sound card if you want 4 inputs. If you just want to have 4 players in the software, you do need another sound card. You can still use 2 TT and 2 players in the software at the same time.

You can run multiple cards in ASIO at once, so if you have 4 stereo outputs then you can run 4 individual deck outputs to a mixer.

Are you saying he can run a Maya and a SL1 at the same time?

Sure you can with the new version 7 you can do multiple ASIO cards. Although I haven't tried with these 2 I have used a Deejay Trim and the Denon 3700.

No problem at all. The problem might have been that you didn't actually see the sound cards. You can't be sure that it was serato or maya44 !!

You can do all kinds of cool things in here with your sound cards.
you should be able to connect up to 8 decks with your 2 sound cards combined by enabling mono channels in the advance config panel.

Alrite great,
Ill try and get this working tomorow when i get up. Say do any of you people happen to have a tutorial handy on how to connect those bad boys up?
Also, on my previous attempts to Connect both cards at one, i only got the turntables working through the sl1 card, but even then they were very distorted. The soudn was very cloudy as if my timecode hadnt been properly calibrated. Anyone know what might be causing this?

I'm a little confused. If you have a Free Home version of 7, then it does not offer time code control. Maybe that's why you are having some issues. I did not know they had a Trial Version of 7 Pro.

They don't.
The free home version allows you to run pro features for 10 minutes per session.
