Hello:
Thank you for viewing this post.
I am trying to connect the following in an intricate web connected to my lappy:
1) M-Audio Fast Track Ultra
2) M-Audio Axiom 25
3) Boss DR-880
4) Roland MC-303
5) Hercules RMX
6) Microphone
Is this possible without an external mixer? Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your help!

uuuhhhh ,i could help, if only i knew what those things are......
what are you trying to do with them ?
the mic can connect to the RMX , via female xlr to male 1/4"
if those items are usb , obviously they have to connect to the computer , not an external mixer
unless the mixer has usb in and the device's output is usb
you will need a 4 or 7 port POWERED (only) hub
this means the hub plugs into the wall outlet
this means the hub is NOT buss powered
the axiom 25 is a 2 octave keyboard/controller with trigger pads
i don't know what the other stuff is

uuuhhhh ????
the fast track is a 4 channel sound card
the RMX has a soundcard
the Roland has a sound card plus sequencer plus drum machine
the Boss is a drum machine
the Axiom is a keyboard/ studio type controller with drum pads
the RMX is a DJ type controller with a soundcard
you have a lot of duplication of functions here .......

hey chuck---thanks for your help/input...
indeed---i have a lot of sound cards... :)
essentially:
the Fast Track is what i am trying to route everything through in order to record via the lappy;
the RMX has mixer/scratching capabilities;
the Roland makes the trippy nostalgic techno sounds;
the Boss makes the bassline and i can plug in a guitar to it to layer some chords;
the Axiom adds the ivory flavor with the keyboard;
so---perhaps i will have to use specific combinations of the abovementioned items...for example: the RMX with the mic, etc. and i will have to lay down individual tracks with each item and synchronize them...i was hoping to be able to have everything going at once but i don't think that's going to happen unless i have a serious mixer routing everything to the Fast Track to my lappy...
maybe i can use two or three items together so that i dont have to lay down four individual tracks...
...whaddya think...?

the fast track and the laptop output to the mixer
if possible use the mic in the fast track not the RMX
the mic , roland , boss and axiom route to the fast track then the mixer
send the RMX output to the mixer
mix it , record output

dont have a lot of time here...special weekend but...this things arent easy to hook up.they must ave compatible sound drivers.thats the first obstacle im running into.best hooking everything extrnally with midi,then run all audio to one mixer,then that to one audio card (the M-Adio?) though i found that the fast track's drivers wont work with anything else but the internal sound card IF im recording with say a screen grabber.
