I plugged my Sony Camcorder into my laptop using firewire and then activated the camera plug in in the video effects tab. It works fine except I get several white thin vertical lines that pop up every 2 seconds. Almost like static. When I activate the Firetext Plug in I downloaded and installed, the video is crystal clear, so I know it's not my camera or connections. The only problem with firetext is the logo on the bottom left of the screen. If you want it removed you have to buy the software for $600 bucks, and all I waqnt to nuse it for is the live feed. Not worth $600.00 to remove a logo, especially if I can get the VDJ camera plug in to clear up and not show those white lines. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

I'm having the same issue with my video camera. Any help would be appreciated. Please note: Windows 7 does not allow the video camera to be used on a USB port so Firewire is the only option at this point.
P.S. The built-in webcam displays fine.

I am sorry to ask... not sure why FireText logo bothers so much in the screens specially because is a free plugin and stable as well - anyway how much you think would be a fair cost to remove that logo? just wondering and I am not saying we will do, just pretty interested in finding out. If you think my question is improper, just ignore it.

I just discovered a fix though it will cost you $60 USD. Use the plugin Essential Media v2.xx. Once installed and licenses, you can feed your Firewire camera through the plugin and get clean video. Haven't used it yet in a live setting but it does work at home.
You can download & install the plugin from the plugin center here on VDJ. Then through the plugin, you can purchase the license.

@pweldon I think you're not counting on the fact that FireText Plugin "annoying" logo was removed, give it a try and you'll have a fix at $0 cost...

Tayla,
As I stated in the other thread, my only agenda was providing the solutuion I discovered for this issue. Where were you when the question was originally asked?
