Topic: problem with effect 4 of hercules console MK4

hey,

I just bought the hercules console MK4, trying everything out. I notice one of the effect-buttons doesn't seem to function. When I hit the 4th button of the 4 effects that you can choose, it always seem to jump to one of the other 3 effects. This is the case for deck A and deck B.

Am I doing something wrong, or could it be an error with my console?

Im not sure but i think maybe there's something wrong with the console.

You are using the Mk4 on a MAC, aren't you ?

This is not a problem with your console but with VDJ LE on MAC only. The bug has been reported and hopefully will be corrected in a future update.
 
yes, i am using it on a MAC. This means it's not going to work at all?
 
I too am having difficulty with the effects keys on the hercules... i phoned tech support and was told that it has to do with the mapping on the version that i am using..(Virtual Dj Pro 7) Tech support suggested i contact Virtual Dj to enquire about how to use the virtual dj settings to set the preferred effect to the desired key (5,6,7,or 8) on the Hercules..

I have had no real answer from Virtual Dj yet, and am hoping someone else can assist me?? ( I Do NOT use a Mac,)

Before I upgraded to VDj PRo7 all the key functions were working!
and now...if i use my mouse to select the desired effect on the computer screen then one of the hercules keys will play THAT effect on the first tap but then reverts back to using the beatgrid effect by default...AND, what's even weirder is that only the one effect (beatgrid) works when i press any of the hercules effect buttons 5 thru 6.??!!

PLEASE HELP... (I hav tried going thru the config menu and mapping out but with no results

Exactly, until they release an update to fix it.

You are using the Rmx or Steel I presume ?

If you go to to the MAPPER tab in VDJ preferences and click on the CD icon at the bottom, this revert the mapper to factory setting, where each button should have a specific function.

You may want to register your VDJ serial number into your profile so you can obtain the latest updates.
 
i had the same issue, but all you have to do is re-map this number 4 effect button to be the backspin effect and it will work perfect
 
janet what console do you have? Enbert (didnt remeber if the name was right). If you just got the MK4 I would return it and pick up a RMX or a 4-MX. Just depends on what you are wanting to do.
 
I love all my Hercules decks as they just get better and better. However, the customer servics is awful. Rude and want to blame everything on you. If they would tightened that up, they would be great.
