The files are added to the database and the \"Show Karaoke is selected?

Please check the following:

(1) The karaoke files are in MP3+G format (.mp3 file + .cdg file.)

(2) The files have been named correctly - The .ZIP file and the .MP3 and .CDG files contained within it must all have the same name, e.g:

ABBA - Dancing Queen (SF123-01).zip
|- ABBA - Dancing Queen (SF123-01).mp3
`- ABBA - Dancing Queen (SF123-01).cdg

(3) The .ZIP file is using standard compression. Using enhanced or non-standard compression is not supported by VirtualDJ's Karaoke .ZIP decoder. To check, simply extract the contents of a non-working .ZIP and then rezip it again using the .ZIP support built into MacOS (Ctrl + click -> Create archive)

NOTE: With today's large hard drives, zipping is not really necessary. The MP3 file is already compressed so there is little to gain from zipping it.

(4) You do not have too many ZIP files in the same folder, otherwise they will not be displayed. Most KJ's usually organise their collection by disk number (E.g: SF123, SF124, etc.) so this is not usually a problem.

(5) You have added the files to your VirtualDJ database. To do this, use the VirtualDJ browser to browse to the folder where they are located, right-click on it and choose Add to search DB

Yes

All my files are zip files. I do have "show Karaoke" selected. When I first open VD I can see the Karaoke files but as soon as I click onto another folder and then try to go back to the karaoke folder I lose all the files. When I do a search no Karaoke files come up.

As above, make sure that you do not have too many ZIP files in the same folder. This will cause this problem on Mac. Most KJ's will have files organised by folder named by the disc number, so too many files in one folder is not normally a problem.

Also, as above, make sure that the files are not using non-standard compression.

NOTE: With today's large hard drives, there is no need to ZIP files any more.

I have the same problem and have found out with the assistance of Tech support that Virtual Dj will not read folders within folders. I'm waiting for that to be fixed in a future update

unfortunatly i had the same problem when I moved over from PC to Mac. The easiest solution I found was to unzip the files. Lets face it the size of external Hard Drives and their price don't really warrant having zipped files.

Make sure you add.ZIP to the codecs.. the default.zip in there doesn't seem to work. Everyone I know who's added .ZIP in caps was fine after that.

That Doesn't work. Not at all

I had the same problem with my Macbook. Karaoke works just fine in my PC.
