Party on the weekend. dance floor packed to the gills. and all of a sudden mid song. all audio is distorted like crazy.
got running on backup machine. rebooted machine and controller. worked fine for 30 more minutes then same thing!!!
THis is the first problem I have had with audio issues. machine has not changed in almost 2 years!!! unplugged from controller and set sound through laptop speakers for test, everything sounded fine.
any suggestions? I am dumbfounded why this would start all of a sudden like that.

Only things that spring to mind are:
1 - HC4500 sound card failure. Try WDM as well as Asio to see if it is the card or just the Asio driver.
2 - Driver or firmware - You can reload the Asio driver on your PC and also reflash the HC4500 with V1006 firmware to see if that resets the problem.
2 - Dodgy USB cable
3 - Something is running on your machine hogging latency.
The HC4500 is one of the most robust and reliable units out there and it's strange to hear of any problems whatsoever.

Hi guys
Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but I'm having occassional problems with my HC-4500 too, not distortion as reported by DJ Nuance above, but sometimes one of the players assigned to the HC-4500 locks completely and cannot be used again until VDJ is restarted.
This happens maybe once every 4 gigs or so. It's always when attempting to cue up a song just after loading it up, the play and cue lights get stuck on the controller, The buttons still work, but it's as if the sound card portion of the controller has failed and so no audio will play, the waveform doesn't move and he deck is hung.
The audio on the other deck is always unaffected, so not a complete showstopper as I can play a song off a backup device while restarting VDJ, but a pain to do so mid gig and then have to reapply all video plugins etc.
Anyone else having the same sort of problems? (Acer Aspire 8930g with 4gb ram, windows 7 x64)
