I am really thinking about making the switch to MAC as my laptop is a bit old. I have been using VDJ & a HC4500 but just got a HC6000.
I am also getting into video.
Any tips or advice and will I lose any functions by using a MAC? Not sure which MAC to get either.

You will lose almost all additional video- & audio-plugins, transitions, ability to record videosets. I am surprised that the program is so poorly supported for the platform, which is the standard for club professionals.

Who ever made that rule??? The reason why there is not as many plugins is because most effects and transitions are user made..............meaning if the user has a mac then there made for a mac but if the user only has a pc well that's it, he can only make it for a pc.
Hope that makes sense........

Top 100 DJs of the world? Just check the photos from clubs. Pioneers, MacBooks. Serato/Traktor/Ableton (oops!) (:

It would be a great idea for Atomix to make a 10-15 quality effects for Virtual DJ, right? As in Traktor or Serato. If the same effects could also be applied to audio and video — it would be a program of dream.
Those audio effects that we get out of the box — it sounds like a child's synthesizer. And there are no effects for video. Under Windows I used Pete's freeframe effects. I still can not figure out how to hook them under the Mac OS.

Really??? Come on thats too funny, lmao!! Anyways I dont use a MAC so I really cant say much but as far as the plugins go I think there fine. As for videos effects, heres a bunch, (http://www.mediafire.com/file/d2m5kutjwtm/Video) I've piled together for PC users. Hope you like them.

Look for the section title. This support for users of MacOS. And you upload an archive with DLLs for Windows.

The above means choose Outputs: 4-out card, then choose the DN-MC6000 in the drop-down list of sound cards.
