Topic: Version 7 issues...7.0.2

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I've been soak testing Version 7 for a month or so now, using various configurations with the following kit:

Advent 4211b Netbook - Atom 1.6, 2Gb RAM, WIN XP 32 Bit
Dell Studio 15 - Intel i5, 4Gb RAM, WIN 7 64 bit.
Dual Numark NDX800's
DJIO
Hercules Steel
Mixmeister Controller
Numark PHX USB Headphones
Behringer DDM4000 Mixer
iPhone iRemote app

Just before going on, I still run 6.1.2 Pro and all of the above works exactly as it should (with the exception of the Mixmeister Controller, which has been specially mapped for V7 4 deck).

With Version 7 I have encountered several issues:

1) Locks up whilst loading when initialising external devices - this normally happens when the Numark PHX USB headphones are plugged in. If the process is ended, via Task Manager, Version 7 remains in memory and only a restart clears it.

2) It randomly ignores tracks, forgets BPM's, Key's, etc that have been included in the database - Version 6.1.2 shows all the files and data correctly.

3) Quite often it will freeze (with a busy cursor), normally upon displaying a dialog box (Options, File info's, BPM, etc)

4) Netsearch cached files sometimes show up, sometimes don't - there doesn't appear to be manual method of forcing Version 7 to re-load the database - currently fighting with it to get it load in the cached files...which it is refusing to do!!!!!

5) Much strangeness going on with my dual NDX800's - too complicated to go into here, but work fine with 6.1.2.

I am not making this post to cast negativity on Virtual DJ, I love the extra functionality that Version 7 brings, 4 decks, iRemote, etc, but as it stands I can't trust Version 7 in a live situation.

So...is it just me?

Just a quick update...

1) Locks up whilst loading when initialising external devices - this normally happens when the Numark PHX USB headphones are plugged in. If the process is ended, via Task Manager, Version 7 remains in memory and only a restart clears it.

This was caused by a conflict in the way the PHX USB headphones install and because of this they had to be enabled via the advanced sound menu in Version 7 - I'll be giving Numark UK a call in the new year to discuss the issues I've encountered.

The other issues still exist, but I'll continue testing and trying to find workarounds or cures.
