I bought a new DJ work station VOXOA S60 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0R1dBWlnF8
I tried to create a controller definition file but it didn’t work. I have no idea what’s wrong with that. Anyone can help me? Please help!!
First, I used the “Midi Trace” to pin the MIDI controller and then I get following information
F0 7E 7F 06 02 20 0C 00 20 0C 10 0F 00 00 05 00 F7
Second, I created an xml file as following
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <device name="VOXOA S60 MIDI" author="VOXOA Development Team" type="MIDI" sysexid="F07E??0602200C00200C100F00000500F7" decks="2">
<button note="0x05" name="FOLDER button" channel="1" deck="1" />
<button note="0x01" name="TRACK button" channel="1" deck="1" />
<button note="0x20" name="PLAY/PAUSE" channel="1" deck="1" />
<button note="0x1F" name="CUE" channel="1" deck="1" />
<led note="0x20" name="PLAY" channel="1" deck="1" />
<led note="0x1F" name="CUE" channel="1" deck="1" />
</device>
I put the file into the “Device” folder and Run the Virtual DJ Home version. However Virtual DJ cannot recognize the controller. Even in the config/mapper section. I delete the “controller definition file” from the “Device” folder; I can map the controller from config/mapper and generate a “Generic MIDI mapping”. But the problem is I can’t map led.
Did I do anything wrong? Please help me! Thank you.

Roger,
Home version does not support MIDI controllers - http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html.
Looking at the video's I have to say I'm quite impressed, are you aware of retailers in Europe, as I'd love to get hold of one to build a mapping file and test it out.

You will also need to make a matching mapper file to go with it and put it in the Mappers folder, e.g:
Also, to have the LED's automatically light for the assigned actions, add default="BUTTONNAME" to the LED defintion, e.g:
(This saves additional unnecessary mapping.)
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<mapper device="VOXOA S60 MIDI" author="VOXOA Development Team" description="VOXOA S60 DJ Workstation" version="702" date="05/01/2011">
<map value="PLAY/PAUSE" action="play_stutter" />
<map value="CUE" action="cue_stop" />
</mapper>

<led note="0x20" name="PLAY" default="PLAY/PAUSE" channel="1" deck="1" />

Hello Simon
The Brand "VOXOA" doesn't sell in Europe. I know the same model but not the same brand sold in Europe. You can check it out the "Citronic MP-X10"

To answer my own question - yes it does!
Well on traktor anyway, still trying to find the VDJ mapping files for the MPX10 or S60!

The support for this unit was added to VirtualDJ ver 7.0.3 that is why the posts stopped in Feb.
