I'm using a Black Macbook, (core2 duo, 2gb Ram) and VDJ 5 Pro,
The problem I'm having is when I try to use a USB Soundcard for the headphones and built-in for master output, I'm getting Heavy distortion through the headphones, Dunno if this is a Driver issue or what, But please any help !
Also why is it when you try to use the Mono cable spliter to do headphones on one channel and Master on the other it will only play Left headphone and Right master, Surely VDJ splits them properly between the two and you should have full sound on both ? ?

With a 2 card setup, you will get this issue if the two cards have different formats set (E.g: 44100 Hz for one card and 48000 Hz for the other.)
To check and change the formats, go to Applications > Utilities > Audio and MIDI Setup
Choose each sound card and check that its format is set to the same sample and bit rate.
The following is recommended:
44100 Hz and 16bit
With the mono split option you will get master on left and headphones on right - That is the whole purpose of this option - To allow you to use a single stereo sound card to output master and headphones separately, each as a mono signal. For STEREO sound, you will need to add a USB sound card, so you can have stereo master output through the computer's sound card, and stereo headphones through the USB sound card.
NOTE: A dedicated DJ sound card with at least two stereo outputs such as Numark DJIO is strongly recommended. You will need to purchase a VirtualDJ product such as VirtualDJ Basic or Pro to use this option http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html - Sound configuration options are limited in VirtualDJ Home FREE and it is for non-commercial use at home only, not for paid gigs.

I know that at some point I will need to buy a proper sound card and what not, but at the moment, i am just making mixes at home,
I tried what you said, it would not let me set the USB sound card to 44100, it only has the option for 48000, so i set both to that, but still getting distortion through both speakers and headphones now.
any other idea's ?
I do have access to my Friends VDJ Pro 5, on his mac, so if you need me to change more settings I can, I just wanna see if this setup can work.

Im having the same issue and I think we got the same sound card, a chep usb "3d sound" one, the bad thing is that in windows this doesnt happens :(

I've given up on it. I'm actually now looking at buying a KAM digi Mini Controller. It seems to have everything I need at a Really really good price !
