Hey guys,

I have one of my clients requesting a song they found on youtube.com. I need help finding this song, or maybe some one here has it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBl9ax0pklk

This is the reply I got back off of youtube.

The original song is by Samira Tawfik,a Lebanese singer

Ya ayn mulayten

This artist however is using different lyrics, it's the same melody but more hip and I love it

Thanks so much in advance for any help!

heres a link to another vid thats properly titled

http://www.mp3eq.com/video/3al-3ein-molayetein-maher-halabi__2482588912.html

bear with me and ill find you somewhere to download it

in the meantime heres some notes ive been taking

The song is called Bent mer el arab and a cover/mix of an older song.

Listen to it from 0:10 and listen to this song from 1:37

http://www.youtube/watch?v=dFmw37eZV5E.

It is the same song.
The same melody but different lyrics. The original song is quite old (at least the sixties, probably pre ww2) and is called Al ayn mulayeteen or in english the song is called Aalain Muliti,

thing is its a remix. there are tons of the same song with different beats, mixes live performances etc.

If you are going to look for it search it with the arabic script.

على العين موليتين

In western script there are many different ways to write it so it is difficult to find.

there is some debate...the song is known as "Bent Mer el 3arab" and the artist...I have no idea..some say Maher Wahdan...it could be, but it could be some unkown man as well.

judging by the other dabka videos ive watched, most of it seems to be played by small bands. therefore this could be a local band who was requested to play at a wedding. and whipped up their own mix.

though i have found the singer may well be ali sha7roor

seeing as ive been typing this as i searched so you know the background i am pleased to say ive found the name and artist. ive not found somewher to download it yet.

there are also versions by

by Fares karam, assi el hillani, Tony kiwan.

the fares karem one seems to be same track. different lyrics though, not 100% sure as i dont speak lebanese/arabic etc..

i think i would go with the maher halabi version as its a definite match. im tired now though and its midnight almost so do a search when you have time and let me know how you get on.

if i have time tomorrow ill see what else i can pull out of the hat.

or you could use the youtube recorder untill you find a paid for copy.

you should ask one of your customers who requested the track if they can translate for you and search the arabic version of google.

and one more thing, the guy has a facebook account and seeing that he does gigs in the states he most probably lives there or speaks very good english.

look him up maybe.

Blulite, are you with the FBI?

no, but i bloody well should be... i did say i was good at finding things ;) youd be surprised as to how many items ive found on the net that people think dont exist.

Any chance you can tell me where I put my car keys?...lol

Can you find my lottery ticket with all the right numbers for this saturday? :P

My first laugh of the day, thank you.

Wow dude, thanks a lot for all the info.

The client isn't of middle eastern descent. . . But just loves the song and would like to hear it at their gig.

car keys are either

in the jacket you were wearing last
on the fire surround
in your back lefthand pocket of down the side of the sofa

failing that, check the fridge. works for me. i once found mine in the fridge after loosing them for 3 days. id put them away with the shopping.

lotto numbers i know but it would be pointless telling you because everyone on the site would win and we would all get nothing.

you could try 8, 49, 16, 23, 27 and 33.....does the lotto even go up to 49? i dont play it!

oh and shares if you win anything.

man you did a lot of research but for the life of me, I can't find anywhere to download it. . . paying for the song or not. . . :(

i had the same problem, i found 3 or his albums but it seems to me like this may have been a gig only thing. although it would probably be very popular on arabic google. it would be hard to find without knowing the language though.

the 2 beginning words can also be spelled

al ein

or

al ayn

and the third can also be spelled with only one E at the end.

being that arabic is so hard to translate into english there may well be other spelings also
