Where are we in this story ? traktor got one, serato got one, why vdj didn't get a version from pioneer ?

I'm sure there's a lot of "our people talking to your people" and monetary deals that go on...
You could imagine a new DJ software company appearing on the scene and throwing a large amount of money at Pioneer to produce a custom controller for it...it would certainly give the impression, to the market, that its software was pucka (to quote an essex chef).
Now, I'm not saying that Serato or NI are new players, but if they wished to re-inforce their belief in their market position, a few quid to Pioneer would certainly be something I could imagine being discussed and undertaken.
You can see the new flame wars forming on the horizon already..."Is a DJ a real DJ if they aren't using Pioneer Controllers" ... "I wouldn't buy any other controller unless it was a Pioneer"...and so on.

That is actually a corporate decision, so we don't know what's going on. I'm sure they do not want to address this issue on a public forum, unless a deal has been made. However the previous post was a very good analogy. There is probably a lot of money involved. The real deal is, we can use any controller that comes out anyway.

I could map the Traktor version to be EXACTLY what I want. Might have to put a sticker over that logo, though... :)

who cares? You can map it yourself and add some stickers to it if you wish, just like jakeintox mentioned.
